Patio Roses

Our Patio Roses have been the outstanding romantic eyecatchers within our seasonal range for years. The collection includes many different colours, such as red, pink, orange, salmon, yellow and white. Great for combining, or place a single colour in a large stylish pot. Patio Roses not only look great on your patio, but also have a beautiful fragrance.

The large flowers bloom abundantly, often in clusters.

Patio Roses are available from at Royal Colours BV in a 22 cm pot size from week 16 untill week 19. It is truly a Mothersday gift.

Our Patio Roses all come with a double arch, so the plant develops and retains an attractive shape. Patio Roses grow up to around 75 to 95 cm high. This colourful plant turns your garden into a party. Did you know that our Patio Roses are winter hardy? You can continue to enjoy their floral display for years!

Tip

Want to enjoy your Patio Rose for even longer? Cut back the stem with wilted flowers about halfway. This way the plant has more energy for its other stems, and will flower even more abundantly!

Planting instructions

Planting instructions for patio roses:

1) Before placing your roses on the patio or repotting them, immerse the pot in a bucket of water for 5 minutes.

2) Give the roses plenty of water after repotting.

3) If you leave the roses in the supplied pot, place a saucer under the pot to prevent the rose from drying out.

4) Do not place the roses in direct sunlight on warm, sunny days (+24°C).

5) Water the roses every day in warm, sunny weather (+24°C). If you have placed a saucer under the pot, fill the saucer with water as well.

6) Remove dead flowers.

7) Once all the flowers on a branch have finished flowering, prune the branch halfway down to encourage the growth of new flowers.

8) The addition of natural or artificial fertilisers will boost flower production. If you use artificial fertilisers, we recommend a slow-release fertiliser (Osmocote).

9) The roses can be planted in the garden in autumn. See the planting instructions for garden roses.

Planting instructions for garden roses.

1) Plant the roses in a sunny spot that receives at least 4 hours of sunlight per day. Make sure there is enough space around each rose.

2) If you are planting a rose bed, plant 4 roses per square metre.

4) Immerse the pot in a bucket of water for 5 minutes before planting the roses.

5) Loosen the soil where you want to plant your roses with a spade. Dig a hole large enough for the root ball.

6) Plant the rose so that the top part of the root ball is a couple of centimetres below the surface level of the ground and press the soil down firmly.

7) Give the roses plenty of water after planting them. Water the plant every week during the first month after planting. Water the plant several times per week in hot, dry weather.

8) Remove dead flowers.

9) Once all the flowers on a branch have finished flowering, prune the branch halfway down to encourage the growth of new flowers.

10) The addition of natural or artificial fertilisers will boost flower production. If you use artificial fertilisers, we recommend a slow-release fertiliser (Osmocote).

11)  Every year after the last frost, around mid-March, prune the roses back to about 10 to 15 cm above the ground. Remove any blackened or dead wood.
